Many people prefer cute and cuddly pets such as kittens, puppies, or hamsters, but if you're someone who likes to stand out and be unique, then you might consider an unusual pet. Unusual pets not only start interesting conversations but also show that you're a person who likes to blaze their own trail. Here are three of my top recommendations:
Bearded dragons: Lizards make great pets since they're generally not as scary as snakes or spiders, and some of them are very friendly. Iguanas are popular, but they require large cages since they can grow up to six feet long. Leopard geckos are smaller, only up to eight inches in length. Bearded dragons, on the other hand, are impressively large, growing up to two feet in length, but they're still manageable. Chaco golden knee tarantula: The chaco golden knee tarantula is much larger than the common pet-store variety tarantulas, with a leg span of about 8.5 inches. However, they're also known to be docile and easy to care for, making them an excellent choice for an unusual pet. Mudskippers: If you don't like creepy, crawly creatures, then consider getting a tank of mudskippers. These fish live in brackish water but can crawl on land for extended periods. To keep them as pets, you'll need an aquarium that's only halfway filled with water, and some surfaces for them to climb on, such as driftwood or plastic lilypads. They're freaky and fun to watch!
